One step forward.

Don’t look down.

One misstep and you can only fall,

Plummet to your death,

You trick yourself and say, “I’m flying!”,

But all you do is fall,

Your lips meet the concrete and maybe finally you’re not alone,

No one to catch you when you fall.

Can’t breathe,

Heart pumping,

Heart already broken,

Don’t cry,

All misty eyed,

Leading to another misstep.

You worked so hard to get up top,

Now you’re finally here –

But in the end you fall because all you’ve ever been good at is falling,

What – a – failure!

No one to hold your hand.

Nobody understands what it’s like,

Like to live,

To live life on a tight rope.
